Concussion Help with CranioSacral Therapy

1/31/2017

There seems to be more awareness about concussions and traumatic brain injury (TBI) these days. High School sports, accidents and combat zones all involve risk of receiving a concussion or TBI. The good news is that many people are achieving relief from their symptoms and experiencing lasting healing with CranioSacral Therapy. The following is one of my case studies from several years ago highlighting a woman’s recovery from a concussion.  Please note: This case study contains technical terms easily understood by a CranioSacral practitioner. For the lay person, don’t worry about understanding all of the anatomy or technique terminology. You will still get the gist of her recovery.  Thanks for reading!

Learning to live my work

Taking a moment to appreciate a beautiful sky...that counts as self-care!

Here I go with my first blog entry! I have many topics I would like to explore in these posts. My mind starts to race and my list of things to do increases until I have to take a breath and feel my feet and clear my head to be in the moment, however cliche it may be. Often this happens while I am nursing my children or in the middle of a CranioSacral session with one of my clients. After a few moments of wandering, I pull myself back to the present. In both situations, I know it is important to be present. Children sense when you are not with them and my best work happens when I am in a centered state at my office. I realize that to accomplish this, continuous self-care is vital and that is what I wish to share with you, dear reader.
Instead of beating myself up for a wandering mind, embrace it and then get back to center. Instead of waiting to plan the perfect self-care activity, how can little moments be designed to nourish that need? This is what I wish to share and hopefully inspire you to find ways to support your journey towards health and contentment.
Thank you for reading and I look forward to sharing with you!
